Reserve your spot for the School Diversity & Equity Workshop!

At a time when NYC schools are the third most segregated in the country, it is incredibly important that we activate the power of community voice!

We need your help to address the increased segregation that is happening across our district as result of an open-choice assignment plan. Once again, if you have not seen the data study commissioned by the CEC back in October, please click here. The School Diversity and Equity workshop is a space for us to come together as a community and explore what diversity in schools means to us.

We will also be discussing the results of our last charrette held in January, which includes a rubric for evaluating a new school by the needs and vision of the district 1 community. In addition we also have a wonderful graphic design poster that includes our statements for what a new school should look like.

Please, if you have not yet registered, visit our EventBrite page at http://cecdistrict1.eventbrite.com and register today. Seats have been opened and we welcome everyone who is interested. Child care and refreshments will be provided. Contact CEC1@schools.nyc.gov to rsvp for child care.

Tell your friends, families, and colleagues how important it is that we grab this opportunity to create community-driven change.
