The District One Community Education Council's mission is to help District One (“D1”) families and educators to exercise self-determination and local control over education policy and practices and to participate in decision-making at the level of family, school and community.
Kids Are The Future
On this JTB podcast episode I talk to Lower East Side native and CEC-1 (Community Education Council) director Naomi Pena. Naomi’s main roll in the CEC is to be the voice for over 7,000 kids and their parents in the district 1 public school system which she holds very proudly.
